The Call to Prayer
The Brownsville Revival was not born out of thin air. It was the culmination of a two-year prayer initiative led by Pastor Steve Hill. Beginning in 1993, Hill and his congregation at Brownsville Assembly of God in Pensacola, Florida, embarked on a journey of fervent prayer, seeking God's renewal and revival. Their prayers were not in vain, as God answered in a mighty way.
The Revival Begins
On Father's Day, June 18, 1995, an evangelist named Daniel K. Aldape visited Brownsville Assembly of God. During his sermon, Aldape called upon the Holy Spirit to ignite a revival, and the congregation responded with an outpouring of emotion. People began to manifest physical signs of God's presence, such as shaking, laughing, and crying. The revival had officially begun.
