UK General Election 2015: Wales Results
Summary
In the 2015 UK general election, held on 7 May, the Conservative Party gained three seats in Wales, taking their total to 11. Labour took nine additional seats, bringing their total to 27. The Liberal Democrats lost all three of their seats in Wales.
Conservatives make gains
The Conservatives' success in Wales was their best result since 1983. The party gained seats in Cardiff North, Vale of Clwyd, and Wrexham.
Labour dominates
Labour's strong performance in Wales was part of the party's UK-wide landslide victory. The party now holds 27 of Wales' 32 seats in Westminster.
Liberal Democrats lose all seats
The Liberal Democrats suffered a heavy defeat in Wales, losing all three of their seats. The party's vote share fell from 23.1% in 2010 to just 7.9% in 2015.
